Mt Field National Park

I wanted to see many falls, so I went to Mt Field National Park. It is west of Hobart. we got there by car in about 1 hour 30 minutes.

I had to pay $9 to enter by car. If you enter during the holiday, you have to pay $30. But I think this cost is very cheap, because this park has many interesting spots. There are 11 courses on the guide map.

I decided to walk course 2 at first. On this course, Russell Falls, Horseshoe Falls and Lady Barron Falls are able to be seen. I placed my car in the first park near the visitor reception and started to walk. I could see wallaby …maybe wallaby… as soon as I started to walk. Very excited!!! Russell Falls and Horseshoe Falls was beautiful, but I felt sorry that the amount of water was small.

Then, I had to walk to Lady Barron Falls for about 1 hour, but it was my first time bushwalking, so I could walk without feeling tired. On the way, there were many toll tree. I could walk this course in about 2 hours. After I returned to start place, I ate lunch.

Then I left for Lake Dobson. The road from the first carpark to the second carpark near Lake Dobson was unsealed. I begun to walk course F to see Lake Seal, but I gave up on the way, went back and walked around Lake Dobson (course 5). It was very quiet, sometimes rising of fish broke silence.

Next, I left this national park for Junee Cave. I like to see falls and caves very much. Junee Cave is small and I couldn't go into this cave. From this cave clear and cold water flowed out.

After seeing Junne Cave, I had some time, so I left for Southwest National Park. The way there was very long, but the view was very beautiful and great. Finally, I went to Strathgordon.

This drive taught me that Tasmanian nature is wonderful.
