North-East Coast

This weekend was the third for me in Tasmania. I went to the north-east coast with my friend by car.

First, we went to a bakery in ROSS. I heard the bakery is the model of Japanese movie 'Majo no Takkyu-binn'. There are pictures of 'Kiki' and 'Jiji' in the bakery. Is this rumor a fact? After inspecting a big charcoal oven, we had breakfast here. The taste of some bread were very delicious. I haven't eaten delicious bread for a long time.

We went to Ross Bridge near the bakery too.

Then, we went to a lavender farm in Bridestowe. I had heard the best season is from December to January, so I was thinking that I wanted to go early. It was late, so we couldn't see flowers all over the land, but I was satisfied.

Next, we left for Devonport which was the last destination for today. Rryoko who was one of the members had a plan to go back to Melbourne from there by 'The Spirit of Tasmania'. The ship was big beyond my expectation. Ryoko was waving her hand until we couldn't see her.

After seeing her off, we had to find a place to sleep. We didn't have a plan. In the mean time, I went back to Launceston and ate dinner. After finishing dinner, we made calls to some hotels. The first hotel had two single room only, and the second hotel had no vacancy. We could find a hotel by calling 3 times. The hotel was at the seaside in Bridport... very clean and very cheap…$13/person. I was pleased with the hotel as soon as I saw it.

Next morning, I went to the beach at the front of the hotel to take photos until my friends get up. The sunshine and a dry beach were very beautiful. After everybody got up, we went to another beach. The color of the sea was blue and it was beautiful.

We left Bridport for Mount William National Park, but the road there was very bad! So we gave up going to there and changed destination to St Helens Pt. The sea was more beautiful. The color of the sea was emerald green.

Next, we went to Nine Mile Beach. It is shorter than 'Kuju kuri hama' which is a beach in Japan, but the color of the sea is blue too, and it was beautiful in its own way.

Then we left for our last destination which was Richmond. On our way, we dropped into Bicheno and Spiky Bridge that was made by prisoners too.
